Onze zoon in schonen van zijn ouders. |
Landal Greenparks
Saarburg
After months of hard work, we finally went on a well deserved vacation. Sander and I had two weeks of vacation and we have just returned from a week long vacation in Saarburg, Germany.
Saarburg is a small town just south of Trier and we rented a small house at the Landal Greenparks. We wanted to get away from it all, but we had to take the limits of our little man into account. So we did not want to travel far, sleep and eat comfortably and be flexible about our activities. Our house in the park at Saarburg was ideal. Saarburg is about 4 hours drive from Nijmegen, has a small but cute city centre and lots of lovely scenery to walk around in, the hills along the Saarvalley, covered with vines of wine. And Trier was at a 30 minute drive and had lots of remains from Roman times and later times in the city centre.
The park is well suited to families with small children. The houses were small, but fitted with several bedrooms, so our little man could sleep in his own room. Swimming and playing in a playground are his two favourite activities at the moment, and there was both a pool and a large playground, so that was a big hit. The pool even had a slide, which our son wanted to slide down again and again and again with his father. About 2 metres of fast sliding and then going under water with a big splash! The houses stood individually on their own lots, so we didn't bother the neighbours if our son had a little "moment".
So we had a wonderful week, and the coming week Sander and I will have to ourselves, as our son goes back to the daycarecentre. I will tell some more about what we did on our holidays in other posts.
